Carla Roman Vazquez - Spain (10)
Carla, born in Cadiz, Spain is 10 years old and started playing piano and cello at the age of four and a half, with her mother, Patricia Vázquez García. Currently she receives additional classes from the Spanish pianist, Luis Fernando Pérez.
She has enjoyed masterclasses from Guillermo Gonzalez, Benedicte Palko, Graham Jackson, Nino Kereslizde, Luis Fernando Pérez, Angel Sanzo, Juan Lago, Edith Fisher, Jorge Pepi-Alos and Galina Eguiarazova.
In May 2016, she won the first prize of IV young performers competition of Sanlúcar in the category up to 13 years, first prize in category A, up to 12 years in Santa Cecilia competition "Fundación Don Juan de Borbon" held in Segovia and first prize in the competition organized by EPTA in Madrid. The latter prize included a performance at the Museum of Romanticism, Madrid.
In 2017, Carla won second prize in the International Competition of Leganes as well the Special Jury Prize; first prize in the V Young Performers Competition of Sanlúcar (category up to 13 years) and the first overall prize in the category up to 13 years of the International Competition Ciudad de Sevilla "Julio Garcia Casas". In the same year, she also won first prize in the "II Cerviano Casio piano competition" in Madrid receiving honourable mention at the Ricard Viñes piano Kids and Youth, She is the 1st prize winner (2017) of the VI International Competition Esteban Sánchez (up to 14 years). In July 2017, she perfomed at the International Music festival Segovia and in the same year she won first prize in the piano competition II "Ciudad de Jerez".
In November 2017, she participated in the “IV Hispano-Russian young talent festival” organized by the UCA and performed in a concert tour. In April 2018, she won second prize in the VI young performers competition of Sanlúcar.
In 2018, she also won the first prize in the III Rotary Club Marbella Music Competition and the special prize of the OFM. She was awared first prize in the 8th International Piano Talent Competition of Milan (2018).
Carla made her debut with an Orchestra in 2018, playing D Major Haydn concertó.
In September 2018, she received third prize in Arthur Rubinstein Institute Competition and represented Spain in the 40th International EPTA Conference in Malta. In December 2018, she won first prize in Cesar Franck Competition.
